Yayy!!! We can still blame humans for what is most likely a natural climate cycle.
Funny thing is, the Antarctic ice expanding goes against all the computer models that the Goremeister, his partners in crime the UN's IPCC and all the other hysterical ninnies that believe the only way we will be able to stop this climate change thing is by submitting all developed countries economies to totalitarian (read:UN) regulations and creating a fraudulent and ridiculous "market" in CO2 trading or whatever the hell they call it now.
Brave new cold/warm/icy/temparate world.....
Oh and the ozone hole thing causing the ice expansion? Yeah, probably not.

You been surprisingly quiet this week, Jack. Especially given the coverage Prof Ian Plimer got in last week's The Australian (with a riposte this week calling him a pseudo-sceptic - what the hell is a pseudo-sceptic?!).
He had some good points - the atmospheric scientists are getting all the press time but it's a complex system that needs input from all disciplines and fields to form a coherent picture that withstands scrutiny. The argument of natural vs manmade also deserves a run. The Antarctic equation is a point in case.
So the west is shrinking but the east is growing. The question should be - what's happening on balance?
It just occurred to me, you should read up about the urban heat island effect. Try the BoM website. This would be a good bit of empirical evidence you could gather for yourself and draw some conclusions from. Get back to me when you've taken some measurements.

You and your urban heat island effect!!! We both agree that this phenomenon will skew the temp. data, however this does not in any way impact the argument about CO2, CO2 trading, CO2 tax, etc.. etc... The fact that large political bodies are attempting to enforce regulation and tax the crap out of the developed countries over what cannot be scientifically proven (or disproven) is a fraud of the biggest magnitude..
You want to make the world a better place? You want to make cities more environmentally sound? Awesome and cool. Invest in technologies and research to do just that. Make all our cars run off garbage and vegetable oil. Just don't pretend that taxing CO2 and handing the reins of industry to government will save us from the "impending" environmental "apocalypse", if that's what you want to believe.
I write these posts to show the sheer ridiculousness of the pro-AGW arguments, yet I still don't think I've convinced you.
